The upper shot, taken on 17 August 1985 from Cessna 172 VH-OZY of Horizon Aviation. The shot is looking south-west and shows the majority of the airport buildings. Run your cursor over the photo for a description of the major buildings. At this time fire and rescue coverage was provided by the local Fire Brigade. An ARFF Fire Station was later constructed near the Control Tower. The lower shot shows the airport Terminal Building and apron from airside, taken on 23 August 1987 from Cessna 172M VH-KFS. Note the lack of security fencing, considered unnecessary in those days.
